Artist and Writers Retreat at Can Torras If you need seclusion to work, leaving the clamour of everyday life behind, then we think Can Torras could be the place for you. You will have a comfortable work environment, free wifi connection and delicious meals at your convenience. We are set high above the Llemena valley in the peace of a national park, yet only 30 minutes from the beautiful and ancient city of Girona. Its airport, train and bus station are also 30 minutes away, with excellent connections via Ryanair, so you can be enjoying all that Can Torras has to offer in no time at all! Relax in a hammock under the shade of our pergola, chill in our hot spa overlooking the valley, or wander our gardens and its surrounding hills for your inspiration. The evergreen Gavarres Hills of cork oaks and pine are an area of natural beauty all the year round, and there are paths to explore in every direction. Els Angels Sanctuary, where the artist Dali chose to marry his beloved Gala, is only a gentle one hour walk away. If you bring family or friends, then the coastal villages of the Costa Brava are again half an hour away by car, or we can direct them to the lake or mountains. We think that once you have started work here you will not want to leave! Enjoy a little pampering whilst you relax and be creative. We love to cook and take a great pride in our own organic vegetables, fruit and eggs with a huge chunk of inspiration from the local produce. All meals are included and they can be served out under the pergola, or in your private suite. There are large tables for work space in your rooms, but you might also like to find a spot somewhere in the garden, perhaps under the fig tree or down by the pond! Rates for 2012
